Installation Requirements

Template and Installation Requirements for your Granite or Quartz Worktops
Please read carefully the requirements regarding the templating and installation of your granite or quartz worktops. The installation is normally 7 to 10 working days after the day of templating. The installation date will be confirmed on the day of templating.

If there are any changes required, please contact our factory immediately on 01582 485811 or on 07757510296. This will help avoid unnecessary delays in production. Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

Template Requirements

It is essential that you or your representative is present on site at time of template to provide access and discuss position of any joints or special requirements e.g. Upstands, window sills, cooker or hob splashback, wall supports. You or your representative must also be present on day of installation.

Important Preparations

Prior to templating and installation it is imperative that the following preparations have been made and completed:
  1. All base units must be fixed securely in place and level including all decor end panels where required.
  2. No dresser units which will sit on worktops should be installed. Dressers should be installed after the worktops have been installed.
  3. Free standing cooker i.e. range must be positioned and levelled in its permanent/fixed location, not necessarily connected
  4. All existing or temporary worktops are removed.
  5. All appliances such as hob and taps are disconnected and removed.
  6. If you require cut outs for taps, pull up sockets, hob, and sink, template details of sink and the items must be available on site.
  7. All under-mounted sinks must be fixed or cradled so that the top of the sink sits 2mm below top of sink unit in required position at time of template. This will allow silicon sealant to flow through this 2mm gap and form a gasket when set.
  8. Where there is an area with no base units to support the worktops or excessive voids behind base units sufficient support must be provided e.g. baton on wall, brackets, baton support behind dishwasher, or washing machine.  Adjustable leg supports where required for a breakfast bar or peninsular must be provided.
  9. It is advised to provide sufficient support underneath, for joints between two worktops for example behind the top of a corner post where a conventional corner base unit butts up to a base unit forming an L shape.
  10. All plastering work to be complete. This helps to provide a more accurate template especially if walls are not straight or flat to begin with. This also avoids any accidental damage being caused to the worktops afterwards.
  11. All electrics, gas and water connections/disconnections undertaken by other companies/trades people suppliers are the responsibility of the customer. We will not be responsible for any problems that occur during or after template and installation.
  12. The plumber must provide himself suitable access in order to install and connect the tap once the worktops have been installed.

Please Note: If the templater/fitters arrive on site but is/are unable to undertake work for any of the above reasons, or you want to cancel your order but do not inform us at least 24 hours prior to the templating date you will be charged  £150.00 plus VAT or £75.00 plus VAT per hour whichever is the greater.
